International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)

TheInternational Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) was established in October 1948, France. IUCN has been working in Nepal since the 196o AD. It was formally opened in Nepal in 1995 AD. With coordination with various governmental and non- governmental agencies, IUCN has been working in Nepal to conserve biodiversity to improve and secure livelihood. It works on nature conservation, biodiversity, and nature-based solutions. The main aim of IUCN is to influence, encourage and assist societies throughout the world to conserve nature and natural resources.

Global Environment Fund (GEF)

TheGlobal Environment Fund (GEF) was established in 1990 AD. It is an international organization established with an aim to conserve energy, environment, and natural resources. Its main principle is that the well- deployed capital can bring significant improvement to the environment and quality of life throughout the world.

National Trust for Nature Conservation

The National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) was established in 1982 by a Legislative Act as an autonomous and not-for-profit organization. It was previously known as King Mahendra Trust for Nature Conservation. It works in the field of nature conservation and sustainable development in Nepal. This trust has undertaken about200 small and large projects on nature conservation, biodiversity as well as cultural heritage protection, ecotourism, and sustainable rural development. It is also supported by many international partners. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project and Manaslu Conservation Area Project with many other projects in and around national parks and wildlife reserves are managed by this trust.

United Nations Environment Programme

TheUnited Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is one of leading environmental organization that is working for the conservation of the environment. It was established in June 1972 AD. It is one of the agencies of the UN. The main mission of UNEP is, "To provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations."
