Health services and facilities decrease the death rate and increases the average age of people. The newly born babies can't get proper medicine against typhoid, cholera, pneumonia etc. So, people have to spend a huge amount of money for treatment.


According to the census 2058 BS, the annual growth rate of population in Nepal is 2.24%. The rapid growth of the population has affected health facilities and services. There has not been much improvement in public health despite the growth in the number of doctors, hospitals and health posts.

The table shows 73, hospitals 583, health posts, 85 Ayurvedic dispensaries, 32367 population/doctors and 5825 population/bed according to the census 2038 BS. According to census 2048 BS there were 144 hospitals, 816 health posts and 155 ayurvedic hospitals in the country. According to the census 2058 BS, the health services and facilities have been improved a lot.There was one doctor for 15800 people and one hospital bed for 3808 people in 2048 BS. There was one doctor for 5807 and one bed for 4410 people in 2058 BS.

Education is essential for all. It helps to get knowledge and skills and improve attitudes in people.It makes people socially and politically aware. It changes people's thought and attitudes and the way of life. The number of teachers, schools, physical facilities and educational materials are to be increased in proportion the number of students. Government can't be modernize in the absence of education. The development and promotion of modern education started from 2007 BS in Nepal. According to the data of 2007 BS, there were only 310 primary schools, 22 secondary schools and 2 colleges for higher education when there was only 10455 students.

The above table shows gradual development in the field of education in Nepal. In 2038 BS there were 46288 teachers which reached up to 132183 in 2058 BS. There were 1701896 students in 2038 BS which reached up to 5361360 in 2058 BS.
There are six universities in Nepal at Present. They are Tribhuwan University, Mahendra Sanskrit University, kathmandu University, Pokhara University, Purwanchal University and Lumbini Buddha University. The fulfillment of trained teachers, management of physical facilities of schools, supply of text books and teaching materials and many more other facilities.
