Notes on lesson on Work Energy and Power |

Work Energy and Power

After completion of this lesson, student must be able to:

  • Identify different forms of energy
  • Interpret the inter-relation among work, energy and power with their unit and differentiate them.
  • Use and define the units of work, energy and power.
  • Solve simple problems on work, energy and power.

Energy is the capacity or ability of a body to do work. This note provides us the information about energy and its different types and transformation of energy.

The rate of doing work is called power. One watt power can be defined as that in which one joule work is done in one second. This note provides us further information about power and its unit.

Work done by force acting on a body is defined as the product of force and displacement of the body in the direction of the force. This note provide us the information about work and its types.
